It was such a great experience, and I loved exploring the unique finds while enjoying the lively energy of the market!
This week, for my creative writing class, our assignment was to write a story from a fictional character’s point of view, and I chose Daisy Buchanan from The Great Gatsby. To get a better understanding of her character, I’ve been re-reading the novel. It’s been interesting to dive deeper into her personality and motivations to make sure I write her perspective as authentically as possible. The more I read, the more layers I find in her character, and it’s definitely helping me with my assignment.
This week, my international friends taught me how to play the card game called "Spit", and it was a blast! It’s a fast-paced game where the goal is to get rid of all your cards before the other players. You place cards down in sequence, either one higher or one lower than the card in the center. The trick is, you have to do it quickly and without hesitation--it's all about speed and trying to outpace everyone else. It took me a few rounds to get the hang of it, but was so much fun to learn. I haven't won a game yet, but hopefully I can win one next time!
This week, I got the chance to explore more of Dublin, and I stumbled upon some hidden gems in the city. I found a cozy little café that serves the best hot chocolate that I have ever tasted. I spent some time enjoying my hot chocolate and soaked in the atmosphere of the city.
Also, I’ve been getting into a bit of a routine here, and it feels nice to feel more settled.
