As I mentioned before, people speak Dutch and English. However, there is such a large international population that you can hear a variety of languages in restaurants and shops and on the streets.
The Dutch use the Euro. One thing that I find different about the money here is the usefulness of coins. In the United States, no one wants to hang on to change, but, in the Netherlands, you can get coins that represent one and two euros. That's too large of an amount to throw away!
The price is the same since my last post. Did I mention that I always carry a reusable water bottle around? In the Netherlands, it’s safe to drink all of the tap water, so I refill my bottle in bathrooms, kitchens, classrooms… really anywhere!
In Rotterdam, my friend and I went to a vegan burger place called Flower Burger. I ordered the spicy chickpea burger (yellow bun, chickpea and barley patty, tropea onion tartare, tomatoes, salad, spinach, spicy sauce).
