The weather this week was extremely hot! Cartagena is known for always being hot and humid!
Since Cartagena is another big city, I didn't see very much wildlife. I mainly saw birds. However, when I was visiting El Castillo de San Felipe de Barajas, a nearly 500-year-old castle in Cartagena, I saw cats! The cats live in the castle to help scare away mice. They were really friendly, and one of them even climbed on my lap.
The coolest thing I saw in nature this week was Playa Blanca, an absolutely beautiful beach just outside Cartagena on the island of Baru. Isla (island) Baru is one of Colombia's Rosario Islands, which is a chain of islands that extends out into the Caribbean. I had a great time swimming in the bright blue water, and when I wasn't swimming, I was hanging out under a tree in the white sand.
