The furthest I traveled this week was to the center of Kuala Terengganu, which is 11.3 miles from the Universiti Malaysia Terengganu.
Over the course of my journey, I have traveled over 9,172 miles (or 14,760.9 kilometers), the distance from Rhode Island to Kuala Terengganu.
I traveled by foot and bike to move from the hostel to the lab and on to the office. One day my friends and I decided to leave campus and head to Kuala Terengganu by car for lunch. We zoomed away from the Universiti, crossed the bridge over the Terengganu River, and entered Kuala Terengganu center at lightening speed. We found my friend’s favorite restaurant and stopped for a traditional lunch. The buffet was laden (weighed down) with Malaysian delicacies, including kurma, an aromatic chicken flavored with ginger, garlic and that special mystery kurma spice, and telur dadar, a fluffy egg omelet that's crispy, salty and flavorful. After lunch we packed up and drove home, with empty wallets, full stomachs and a car full of laughter.
