Well, everyone, we are approaching the end of our journey together! We covered a lot of topics together including traditional food, my journey with the Peace Corps, homes, nature and daily life. I hope you have enjoyed learning just as much as I have enjoyed sharing with you! Your excitement to learn is a great reflection of your eagerness to explore inside and outside of the classroom. Each one of you has endless potential as learners and world explorers!
I hope that our time together has shown you how exciting it is to explore the world. When I was your age, I remember feeling like the world was such a big place! The thought of traveling and exploring the world was a bit overwhelming. But, as I have gotten older, I have learned that when we learn about the world, we can form even deeper connections with the people around us. When you ask lots of questions, you can even learn about the world without having to leave your own community! In other words, learning can happen anywhere and anytime. With your creativity and eagerness, I know that each one of you will keep learning lots about the world - whether you are at home or somewhere new!
When I was about to begin my journey in Botswana, I felt a little nervous to leave home. But, it was the best decision I could have made.
