Hello – or Dumela! My name is Kayla, but in Botswana I am called Lelentle. I was born in Edmonton, Alberta in Canada, but later moved to a beautiful town called Farmington, Maine. So, I am Canadian and American!
Growing up in Maine, I loved spending time outside hiking, running, kayaking, and gardening. Nothing makes me happier than spending time in nature. Living an active and healthy lifestyle is important to me. My childhood passions informed my interests later in life. As a college student, I studied science and health studies! These are two topics that have helped me learn more about healthy living.
Currently, I am a Peace Corps volunteer living in a small village in Botswana. Botswana is a beautiful country in the southern part of the African continent. As a Peace Corps volunteer, I spend most of my time in the community empowering people to make healthy lifestyle choices.
Peace Corps is a United States volunteer program that has allowed me to teach about health, learn about culture in Botswana, and share about American culture. Fun fact, I am currently learning two new languages! Tune in, I am so excited to share more with you about the beautiful culture here!
