I learned a lot about the Fallas Festival, which happens every year in March in the city of Valencia, Spain. Artists in the city create massive wooden sculptures called "fallas" that are on display for several weeks. The sculptures can be more than 20 feet high. The sculptures normally represent pop culture. For example, there have been sculptures of Cinderella and other Disney characters, as well as American presidents like Barack Obama. People from all over the world travel to see the sculptures. On the last night of the festival, there are parades all over the city with music, people dancing in costumes, and firework displays. After the parades, the sculptures are burned down to the ground to end the festival.
