Even though it never snows in Lavras, the weather is starting to become more chilly than usual. In Brazil, the winter starts in June and ends in September. It usually does not get any colder than 60 degrees, but sometimes people will wear large jackets because they are used to much warmer weather.
This week I saw capybaras, monkeys and different kinds of colorful caterpillars! What is the most interesting animal that you've ever seen? Every city in this state has its own ecosystem and interesting wildlife.
The coolest thing I saw was the capybara. They are very friendly and playful animals. In fact, they've helped me begin to view the entire rodent family of animals in a different light.
