Living in Italy, you’d think I’d be eating pasta every day and loving it, right? Well… I did, for about a week. Then I got so tired of pasta. It’s everywhere! I started craving something different, something with spice, flavor, and a little taste of home.
That’s when I decided to branch out and try new foods here that are both Italian and international. I ended up finding two dishes that totally changed my food mood: mozzarella and tomato gnocchi and some authentic Mexican tacos that reminded me of home in L.A.
Oh, and one thing I still haven’t gotten tired of? Gelato. I could eat it every day and still want more. All the amazing flavors and possible combinations of flavors makes it impossible to get bored of it.
The first was mozzarella and tomato gnocchi. Gnocchi are little potato dumplings, kind of like tiny, fluffy pillows. They came baked in a dish covered in melted mozzarella and rich tomato sauce.
Then came the real surprise: I found a Mexican restaurant that specialized in tacos, which was tucked away near my apartment!
