I have been so lucky to be here and to eat so much. There are noodles as far as the eye can see, with so many hidden gems of restaurants! Any time I go into the city or to the mall, I am overwhelmed by all of the choices. I feel like a cartoon character being lead my nose, floating after a delicious smell! I get hungrier with every step as I smell the spices and hear the meat sizzling.
Oodles of noodles! The broths in Hong Kong have been delicious so far. I have also eaten dim sum at many places with my favorite being the 奶黃包 (egg yolk buns/milk yellow buns). They are so soft and warm! Dim sum is a Cantonese style of small, steamed dumplings served in a basket. I've also tried an interesting local drink. It starts with preserved fruit a glass, which you mash up with a spoon and then you pour 7Up on top of it and take a sip! It was so different from anything I've had before, a salty and a little sweet and a little bubbly. I had never tried anything like it! I've also tried tripe soup, which is made from the intestines of an animal, and the famous Peking duck, which is a delicacy. Peking duck wrapped in a thin wrapping with some sauce is so delicious.
