Beef Noodles!

Introduction:

Beef noodles or beef noodle soup is known as niuroumian (牛肉麵, which literally translates as "beef meat noodles"), and is one of the staple foods of Taiwan. You see it on nearly every street corner! It is sold everywhere, from tiny stands on the corner of an intersection to the menus of fancy, expensive restaurants.

In an island nation that is well-known for its incredible food (such as their famous soup dumplings, fried chicken and pork rice), it says a lot that the capital of Taiwan holds an annual festival for beef noodles.

What food did I try?:

I tried beef noodles or beef noodle soup. It is a simple dish made up of just beef, noodles and broth. However, there are countless variations of beef noodles. You can change the type of beef (I really like beef tendon which is much softer), the type of noodles and the ingredients that go into the broth.

In fact, you might be familiar with its Vietnamese cousin, pho, which is another form of beef noodles.

How did I feel when I tried it?:

I have tried lots of food since coming to Taiwan such as sushi, ramen, udon, pho, hot pot, Korean BBQ, and so much more. However, I make it a goal of mine to eat beef noodles at least once a week.
