What chores do you have at home?:

"I don't have too many because I usually don't get home until later in the day after cram school. I am expected to keep my room clean. However, every day, I have to do chores at my school. We have to sweep up leaves in front of our school during the chore period." 

What jobs do your parents have?:

"My mom and dad own a local restaurant here." 

What time does school start, and what time do you go home?:

"School starts at 8:00 a.m., but we have to be at school at 7:30 a.m. for test preparation. School gets out at 5:00 p.m. but sometimes we have club activities that go even longer. And I have to go to buxiban (補習班, cram school or extra classes that many Taiwanese students attend in the evenings), so I sometimes don't get home until 9:00 p.m." 

How do you get to school? Are you allowed to go to school by yourself?:

"I walk by myself to the bus station, take the bus and walk with my friends to school. My parents work in the morning, so I go myself." 

Where do you eat lunch? What is your favorite food?:

"We eat lunch at school and I like the pork." 

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

"We speak in zhongwen (中文, Chinese), but we also have to take classes in English. You can say nihao (你好) or halou (哈嘍, which sounds like ha low, or hello) to say hi!"
