Learn More About Taipei City

It also has one of the best public transportation systems in the world. On top of a highly developed and clean MRT (Metro Rapid Transit), it also has a massive system of shared bike stations, local trains and buses that cover the entire city. It's also fairly walkable!

It is also home to some of the best food in the world (as I highlighted in the food post from earlier this semester). It has incredible night markets, where vendors sell food from stalls that rival what any four-star restaurant can make.

Finally, because Taipei is in a basin that is bordered by mountains, it is very easy for hikers and nature lovers to hike without having to leave Taipei.

What parts of this environment help people to live here?:

One part of the environment that helps people live here is the proximity to the coast. Taipei is very close to the coast, which means that it has easy access to the Pacific ocean. It also has several rivers that run around and through the city.

Taipei also has many convenience stores on every street where you can buy drinks, snacks, full meals, coffee and even toiletries, meaning that you'll never have to walk more than a block or two to get something you might need.

As mentioned above, the city also has one of the best public transportation systems in the world which makes it very easy to live here. It is also well-connected to the surrounding areas with easy access to a high-speed rail network that links all of the major cities on the west coast and to the airport that flies directly to many major cities in Asia.

What challenges do people face living in this environment?:
