Spicy Octopus Fun: Tasting Korea’s Favorite Seafood Dish!

Introduction:

South Korea is known for its love of seafood and spicy dishes! This special dish, popular in coastal cities like Busan, is often enjoyed in a big group with friends or family. Everyone shares from a single plate, making the meal feel warm and friendly. Whether you’re a fan of spicy food or curious about Korean seafood, get ready to learn more about it with me!

What food did I try?:

Since I arrived, I've tried many different foods, but one that really stands out is seafood! Most South Koreans love spicy food, which I already enjoy a lot. I’ve tasted Korean Barbecue, Kimchi Stew, and many other traditional dishes. For a change, however, I decided to try something completely new: a seafood meal cooked in a Korean way! My friends and I went to a seafood restaurant in Busan, a beautiful city by the coast in the South of the country. Busan is the second-biggest city in Korea, famous for its fresh seafood. This special dish isn’t common in places like the United States, which made it extra exciting for me to try.

The dish is called 쭈꾸미볶음 (Jju-Kku-Mi-Bokk-Eum), or "Stir-fried Spicy Octopus" in English. It’s known for being healthy and great for boosting your energy, according to my local friends!

How did I feel when I tried it?:

In Korea, seafood can be served raw or cooked.
