A Look Into Ju's Life in Brazil

Introduction:

Ju is my Portuguese tutor, and she's a bubbly, caring individual. Like most Brazilians, she works a lot! Ju works well over full-time and is currently completing an M.B.A. in marketing. It is very common for Brazilians to work one or two jobs alongside attending school. Ju was thrilled at the idea of being interviewed for you all as she highly prioritzes education, being an educator herself. I will write this article in a traditional interview style, so all of Ju's responses will be in first person and my additions will be in italics.

What is your full name?:

My full name is Juliana Viel Ponesi. My middle name comes from my dad's side, and my last name comes from my mom's side.

Where do you live? What is your house like?:

I live in the countryside outside of São Paulo in a small town. I live with my family, my two parents and my brother, in a regular house in an open neighborhood. I don't live in a gated community or apartment or anything. We have always lived here.

What is your family like?:

My mom's side is native and Italian, and my dad's side is 100% Italian. My dad has been the owner of a neighborhood market in their neighborhood for 40 years. My mom is the owner of a small beauty place for hair and nails [called a saloon de beleza in Portuguese].
