I've shown you many pictures of the desolate countryside, but Ulaanbaatar is a big, congested, populous city with plenty of people, stores, and cars. Take a look!

This is Sukhbaatar Square, the central landmark in UB. During warmer weather, people commonly come here to talk and hang out. There are book fairs, bicycle and roller skate rentals for little kids.

The central feature of Sukhbaatar Square is this statue of Chinggis Khan on the steps of Parliament! It's as though he's observing everyone.
