Hong Kong is a truly stunning place with diverse people and environments. In Tai Po, there is a lot of wildlife and greenery, while Sai Ying Pun is a more urban area.
Sai Ying Pun is much different from Tai Po for many reasons. First, there are not as many green hills or spaces. However, Sai Ying Pun still has many parks that people of all ages can enjoy. For instance, I saw elderly men and women on stationary bikes to help them exercise. There are still many, many hills but plenty of steps and concrete inclines. Second, Sai Ying Pun is right by the harbor. The breeze from the harbor keeps everything very cool. As an island, it is surrounded by water on all sides rather than being connected to the mainland like most of Hong Kong.
Sai Ying Pun is full of people but is able to support everyone's needs because it has been developed to do so. According to my dear friend, Sai Ying Pun is very similar to Morningside Heights in New York City, but more residential. There are many people who live here and are able to continue living with all of the many resources and restaurants that cater to lots of different tastes! I was able to go to a Lebanese restaurant and a local Hong Kong dessert restaurant while I was there.
