Student life in Germany

Most of the Europeans I know also do not really wear t-shirts or tank tops, at least not without some sort of jacket or sweater. I have also noticed that I tend to wear more generic solids and prints rather than shirts with logos after spending a lot of time in Europe. I like to blend in, so I try to dress the part.

What do you like to do in your free time?:

I love to walk around town, read and learn new languages. Since so many native speakers of Russian live in my WG, I am trying to learn some basic phrases and to read Cyrillic, the Russian alphabet.

What language(s) do you speak? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

I speak two languages fluently, English and German. I also speak a small amount of French. There are many ways to say hello in German. The most common ways are Hallo, Tag and Servus

Do you have pets?:

Sadly, my two dogs had to stay at home with my parents. Germany is very pet-friendly though, so I see a lot of dogs as well as the occasional cat on the street.

Have you traveled? Where have you traveled to?:

I have done some traveling. My fall break was the first two weeks of October, and I traveled to Manchester, England. I plan to visit France and Luxembourg soon. I would like to do more traveling now that Christmas market season is approaching.

What do you do for work?:

I am an English teaching assistant at an intercity high school in Germany. I love my job! I mostly work with ninth and tenth graders, although I sometimes make a guest appearance in the fifth and seventh-grade classes.
