I traveled about 56 miles from San Joaquín to Sarapiquí. It is about three hours away, near the Caribbean coast of the country.
Since my last logbook, I have visited tons of new places. I’ve been to Puerto Viejo, Tortuguero, Manuel Antonio, Bocas del Toro and Cahuitawarmerand Sarapiquí. In total, I have traveled about 665 miles.
I mainly got around this week by walking. I walked to school and to the local supermarket. This past weekend, I traveled by buseta to get to Sarapiquí. A buseta is a minibus that can carry between 10-15 people.
The most warmer place I visited was called Hacienda Pozo Azul. This is where we stayed when we were in Sarapiquí, and it was located right inside the forest. At night I could hear all of the monkeys moving around in the trees.
On Saturday morning, I finally got to see the local farmer’s market. It was set up just outside of the institute where I go to school. Although it wasn’t too far from where I live, it seemed like I was in a different part of town entirely. The whole area was transformed into a lively shopping center.
