Lisbon's climate is not as cold compared to the rest of Europe. But having grown up in the Arizona desert, it was still a shock for me to have so many more rainy days as well as colder weather! The weather in Lisbon can change in a minute. One moment it could be sunny and the next thing you know, it's raining cats and dogs. My host family did not have a dryer for our laundry, so we had to hang our clothes outside to dry. Sometimes, my clothes would get left out in the rain and get wet all over again!
There are a variety of animals that live in the urban environment of Lisbon. There is a neighborhood cat that shows up at random in my host family's garden. There is also a park close to where I live that has so many different types of birds, from ducks to geese to peacocks! I like to go this park, sit on a park bench and relax.
