We never thought we would spend 40 days rowing the Atlantic Ocean together. My job is a Mine Clearance Diver and I am responsible for keeping our Royal Navy ships safe at sea and in other countries' ports. My best trip was to Key West, Florida, where I went diving with the FBI and US Navy. During the row, I will miss my favorite food (a peanut butter and jam sandwich) and my dog, Herb. My parents told me from a young age that anything is achievable--you just have to commit, work hard and believe you can do it! And I believe we can row the Atlantic together and have fun doing it.
AABY ALDRIDGE - Hello, my name is Aaby and I can’t wait to start the 3,000-mile row across the Atlantic Ocean with my best friends. I am really going to miss my little dog, Koda, though! Before I learned how to row, I was a snowboarding champion and I love going to the snowy mountains with my parents. I hope to not be too seasick, and I am looking forward to dolphin-spotting and keeping a tally of how many we see. I really want to show you all that you can do anything you want to do: go and be you and give it your best. We are hoping to raise money to help young women find jobs and support mental well-being projects for underserved children and families.
NICOLA HALL - I am Nicola and I normally help navigate big Royal Navy ships, but now I will be helping to steer our 10-meter rowing boat from the Canary Islands to the Caribbean Sea. We will be rowing 24 hours a day--two of us will be rowing and two of us will be sleeping in the little cabins at the ends of the boat. We will switch places every two hours!
