German (Deutsche) is the main language spoken here, but as an international city, there are a wide range of communities that exist within Berlin. Along with German almost everyone here can speak at least B2 (proficient) level of English. The other main languages spoken here are French, Russian and Turkish.
The currency in Germany is the euro (€). Comparing the euro (€) to the U.S. dollar ($), the U.S. dollar is worth more than the euro, with €1 being worth $1.14.
Water is primarily available as sparkling water (Mineral Wasser). Normal water that has no carbonation (Stilles Wasser) costs more. The general price for a bottle can range from .99 to 5.00, but one added bonus is that you can get money back from all the bottles you buy. While using tapwater is fine here, with few to no water fountains available, water bottles are a must-have.
