Alba's Life in Spain

What language do you speak at school? How do you say "Hello" in your language?:

"I speak English, French, Spanish, and Galician at school." 'Hello' is bonjourhola, and ola in those languages, respectively.

What are some common kids' names at your school?:

"Some common names are María, Pedro, Marcos, Laura, Uxía, and Anxo." Uxía and Anxo are common Galician names, whereas the others are common to all of Spain.

What subjects do you study in school, and which one is your favorite?:

Some of the subjects Alba studies include English, French, Spanish history, biology, valores (ethics or values), physical education, music, mathematics, informatics, Galician grammar, and Spanish grammar. Spanish secundario (high school and higher) students typically have 10-12 subjects, alternating between some of them instead of taking each course each day. Her favorite subject is Spanish history, as she likes to learn about her country.

What is your homework like?:

"For Spanish history, I have to look up information, do projects, and make presentations." She also has regular math homework and worksheets in her other classes.

What do you like to do after school? Do you have a favorite sport or game?:

"After school, I like kickboxing, singing, and dancing. I also like running and playing volleyball." Her favorite sport is kickboxing. She has always done individual sports, like kickboxing, tennis, and running. The most popular sport (by far) in Spain is soccer, here called fútbol.
