Travel News

How far did I travel this week?:

I took a day trip to the city of Bruges, Belgium. Bruges is the capital and largest city in west of the Flemish region of Belgium. I ate a traditional dish of Flemish stew (stoofvlees), which is beef stew served with french fries.

How far have I traveled on this journey so far?:

So far, I have visited the cities of Bruges, Dinant and Ghent in Belgium. Each city was a few hours from Brussels, and I enjoyed Bruges the most because it was so beautiful and diverse.

How did I get around this week?:

My main method of transportation is the tram which is an electrically-powered vehicle that runs on tracks. The tram is eco-friendlier than a car, and trams are very common in the city.

What was the most interesting place I visited this week?:

My visit to the city of Dinant, Belgium was the most interesting because I got on a cable car to tour the city's citadel. A citadel is a type of grand fortress, typically on high ground, that is used to protect a city.
