Although the holidays are over, winter doesn't end until March. That being said, there was some variety in the weather this week. It was usually sunny, but definitely not as warm as when I first arrived in September. I traveled from Tainan to Taipei towards the end of the week though. That made a huge difference in my experience. Rain is much more common in Taipei, and we were sprinkled with light showers throughout the already chilly weather.
In Taipei, I was attending a conference for members of the Fulbright organization (the organization that is sponsoring my trip). They allow several other Americans like me to either study in Taiwan or teach English to children. During some presentations from some of the American English teachers who teach throughout the country, I saw a video of a familiar mammal known to make its habitat on the small island city of Kinmen: the river otter. Since Kinmen is on a much smaller island that is separated from the rest of Taiwan by sea, I won't get to see one in person unless I visit.
