The travel time it takes me to get to Dili from Baucau is 3 hours on the local bus. The bus is $10 for a round trip from Baucau to Dili.
The furthest I've traveled was to Bali last year for my birthday with a couple of volunteers. Bali is a 1hr and 21min flight from Timor. We had a great time in Bali--in fact, so great of a time that I lost my passport and debit card. Luckily, I was able to get those things replaced!
To get around my community, I mostly just walk because my house is only 8 minutes by foot from my job.
I haven't visited any interesting places this week because my work schedule keeps me pretty busy. I am working on a community economic development project that involves rice fiber. However, in the past I was able to travel to Vennilale to visit other volunteers as well as a waterfall and hot springs!
