The name of the currency here is the tugrik. The tugrik is quite inflated, which means that you have to spend a lot of them to get very much. It costs about 15,000 tugriks to buy a delicious plate of pasta. That sounds like a lot, but it is only about six U.S. dollars.

A bottle of water usually costs a little under 1,000 tugriks. That is less than 50 U.S. cents!

There is an Italian restaurant in Ulaanbaatar that decided to have a Mexican pop-up this past Saturday. The idea was that for just one night, the restaurant would serve really delicious Mexican food. Mission accomplished!

I had a lot of fun teaching this week. I started reading one of my students the children's book "Holes." My student really likes the book so far. Have you read "Holes?" It's by Louis Sachar, and I'd highly recommend it.
