The weather has been relatively warm, usually staying above 0 degrees Fahrenheit during the day. However, it has also been very smoggy because of the coal in the air. If I stay out for too long without a pollution mask, I start coughing.
There are fewer animals around in Ulaanbaatar than in Khovd, but it’s still common to see cats wandering around on rooftops and walls, just like in the U.S.!
It’s wonderful to see snow falling from the sky! I love the way snow makes everything so still and calm, even in a big city like Ulaanbaatar!
When driving or flying into Ulaanbaatar (UB), it’s easy to see the big dark cloud of pollution that hangs over the city, especially in the mornings and in the evenings.
