It is important to try new things; this way you can meet new people, learn more about the culture and often experience something completely new. Besides flamenco, other dances that are popular all over Granada are bachata, salsa, and kizomba. All three of these dances are beautiful, and you should look up videos of each to familiarize yourself with the forms. Since I already know how to dance bachata and salsa, I have been able to ntegrate into the culture of Granada, and dance with the locals, even though they have a very different dance style to mine! I was nervous at first, but I needed to get out of my comfort zone in order to experience the real life of a local.
This week I am starting an internship at a local business only ten minutes' walk from my house. I am super excited because I will be working at Hotel Los Angeles, a 4-star hotel where I get to practice my Spanish more and expand my business vocabulary. Getting an internship is the best way to learn about the business world of a new country. I will also be able to make connections with more Spaniards since they will be my coworkers. The best way to experience life in another country is to immerse yourself in the culture by eating like the locals, living like the locals, and working like the locals!
