How was the weather this week?:

Medellín is known as "The City of Eternal Spring," but if I could, I would rename it "The City of Eternal Summer." Most days are sunny and warm, and in the afternoon temperatures can reach up to 85 degrees Fahrenheit. When it rains, though, it pours, so most locals carry an umbrella around with them just in case.

What animals did I see this week? :

On my bus ride home from work a few days ago, I noticed swarms of small, bright green birds perched high in the branches of the trees lining the highway. They were chirping very loudly, and I wondered what they were saying to each other. I don't know exactly what kind of bird they were, but it was certainly a species I've never seen around my home in Portland, Oregon.

What was the coolest thing I saw in nature this week?:

This week, I've noticed the many varieties of flowering trees here in Medellín. I walked around the historic Prado district of the city with my roommates yesterday, and I saw all kinds of beautiful blooms sprouting from trees that were purple, orange, bright pink and even red!
