The weather was good this week. The sun has been out the entire week, and we did not have any rain. Sometimes, I wish it would rain because it is very hot in Lusaka. It was also really hot in Livingstone.
I saw a zebra and an emu this week. Even though I couldn't touch either of them, I was able to get pretty close to them. I knew that emus were real, but I always thought they were not because I had never seen one until this week. You all asked about my favorite animal I've seen here in Zambia/on a safari. I would like to change my answer. It is definitely a zebra. They are some of the most beautiful animals I have ever seen.
I went on a sunset cruise this week. While on the cruise, I saw some hippos. I have never seen a hippo, especially not in the water. A lot of the hippos would open their mouths as our boat was going past them. I learned that hippos open their mouths as a warning sign and to show their dominance. I also learned that they chase boats and can run quickly in water, which was scary since I was on a boat.
