It is late October in Greece, so the temperatures are cooling off a bit after a long, hot and very dry summer. I heard that it hasn't rained in some of the areas we are visiting since March! The sun has been out every day, with hardly a cloud in the sky. The mornings are a little cooler (50-60 degrees) and then it warms up slowly throughout the morning. Many Greeks I see are wearing jackets and think it's getting cold, but for me, the weather has been perfect.
The most exciting animal sighting was a peacock, which briefly popped out of the bushes in front of me as I was walking around the Sacred Lake at the archeological site of Delos, Greece. There are cute sreet cats just about everywhere we go, and they are often found asleep on top of ancient marble sculptures within outdoor archological sites. (I heard the guides have cat treats in their pockets.) I've also seen sheep, many birds, fish and underwater sea creatures (mostly on display at restaurants), and some street dogs.
