Aside from the practices, it is just breathtaking and known for it's unique shapes. Approximately 50 million years ago, the area was only a sea delta, which is a place where the river meets the sea in the shape of a triangle! This is why it's named after the Greek letter delta (Δ). In time, the river deposited tons of layers of pebbles, sand and clay, which created the large mountain range. What made the mountains so rounded and unusually shaped, were the millions of years worth of rain that eroded the rocks.
