Hello Travelers! Today, let's talk about transportation in India. Although more and more people are using cars, there are lots of other ways to get around in India. Do you have any guesses?
For everyday transportation, many people in India use motorcycles. This is because they are smaller than cars, so it is easier when there is a lot of traffic. Remember when I told you there were lots of people in India? That means there's lots of vehicles, too!
Another way people travel is using an auto-rickshaw. An auto-rickshaw is a taxi, but it doesn't look like the yellow cabs in the United States. It is very small and doesn't have any doors. Take a look at the picture I posted to see what an auto-rickshaw looks like! Most people call them autos for short.
For travelling long distances, many people in India use trains instead of airplanes. These trains even have beds on them so you can sleep during your journey.
I haven't used a motorcycle yet, but I have used an auto and train to travel in India. I really enjoyed both these ways of travelling. Because autos don't have doors, you can see, smell, and hear everything around you. The wind in your hair is similar to riding in a convertible car with the top down. It's fun and convenient!
