As a part of the Fulbright program that I am currently a part of, I teach English in two schools alongside a Taiwanese English teacher to Grades Three, Four, Five, and Six. Addie is the "LET" or Lead English Teacher that I was paired with, and she also lives in Guan Shan, right down the street from me! I conducted this interview in between classes and during lunch, and since our desks are right next to each other in the office, it wasn't too hard to get to know Addie a little bit more. When she's not busy being a great teacher, she is normally at home taking care of her two sons and spending time with her family.
My full name is 王迪 (Wang Di). In Chinese, we put our family name first; so my given name is actually Di. I chose Addie as my English name because it sounds a lot like my given Chinese name.
I live in Taitung county in the Guan Shan township. Since my husband is a teacher at the high school in Guan Shan, we live in the teacher's housing that is provided by the school. It is a house in central Guan Shan with two bedrooms.
