Padmaja is my mom's second cousin. That means my great-grandmother and Padmaja's grandmother were sisters! That may seem like a very distant relative to you, but we're very close. Many Indians take pride in their familial relationships and have close contact with people you may consider very distant relatives in other countries like the United States.

My full name is Padmaja Yadlapati.
I live in Hyderabad, Telangana with my husband, two adult sons, daughter-in-law (only one of my sons is married) and our dog. We recently moved to a new house in November. We spent five years designing the house and constructing it, so I am very proud of it. It has four floors and a spa, library, gym and home theater!
My family is very big. My husband, sons, daughter-in-law, and labrador retriever Winnie are technically the only people who live with me, but we always have aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces, and nephews dropping in or staying with us. Nina has been staying with us for a few weeks every couple of months for five months, and she is my second cousin once removed!
