What main languages are spoken here?:

English is the main language spoken here, but since the University of Edinburgh hosts exchange students from many different countries, I also heard a few foreign languages. Some of these languages included French, Chinese and Italian.

What type of money is used here?:

While America uses dollars ($) and cents, Scotland uses pounds (£) and pence. Like Scotland, the rest of the United Kingdom uses pounds as well.

How much does a bottle of water cost?:

A bottle of water costs about £1, but it varies depending on the grocery store or restaurant. £1 is equal to $1.24.

What was the best meal this week?:

I ordered fish and chips at a small restaurant, and it was the crispiest fish I've ever eaten. In Europe, "chips" are what Americans think of as fries, and "crisps" are what Americans think of as chips.

What music did I listen to this week?:

Someone in my residence building plays the violin, so I listened to him or her practice at least once a day this week. I also got the chance to listen to the boy who was playing bagpipes at the top of Arthur's Seat, and he played "Amazing Grace."

What activity was the most fun this week?:

During the Highlands visit, I got to see the "Hogwarts Express" drive across the railroad tracks.
