As a general rule, Vietnamese food such as Pho, Bun Cha and Hoi Tumi (noddles) and cơm chiên (friend rice) are some of my favorite foods I eat on a more regular basis.
Since my Vietnamese speaking and listening ability is still relatively low, I primarily listen to the same music I listened to in America such as Chance the Rapper, J. Cole and The Beatles. However, two Vietnamese songs have found their way into my weekly rotation. Hay Trao Cho Anh by Son Tung M-TP featuring Snoop Dogg and Cho Khong by Suboi (the Queen of Vietnamese rap).
I visited Da Nang with some of my friends who I have not seen since our Orientation in Hanoi. I also climbed Ba Den mountain in my local province.
I do not yet have the ability to read Vietnamese texts, so in my free time, I typically read books I brought from America or American news, preferably The New York Times. I recently finished a biography on John Lennon and began reading Pride and Prejudice.
This past week I was very busy so I did not play and sports with my students. However, the students at my school frequently participate in the following sports: football (soccer), volleyball, badminton and table tennis. Football is perhaps the most well known sport in Vietnam due to the success of the national U-23 team.
