I try to go up Monserrate twice a week. While it is definitely difficult since the elevation increases throughout the hike by 2,000 feet, the views are definitely worth it! During my hikes, I typically see people selling fruits such as pineapple and watermelon, water, gatorade, coffee and even popsicles to energize hikers. Throughout my hike, I see roosters crowing, lots of puppies and even police on horses! Hiking has become one of my favorite sports or ways to exercise while living here in Bogota.
This week I attended an indigenous play that celebrated Muisca traditions. The play was an incredible performance that incoprorated the use of indigenous instruments, music and an altar.
