I went to the St. Nicholas Market with some friends! Every Saturday, St. Nick's has an indoor and outdoor market, where people sell pottery, games, souvenirs, and food. My friends and walked around for a bit, and I bought Bristol keychains and a glass suncatcher for my friend from home. It was cool to see all of the unique handmade creations and vintage items.
This week, I read a book called The Corporation by T.J. English. It is a “true crime” book, which means that it is about real events and people! This book is about the history of the United States and Cuba, and what happened after the communist revolution.
This week, I played a card game called Rummy! My friends and I stayed up really late, and they taught me how to play in our kitchen. You use playing cards, and the goal of the game is to get 4 of the same number (like 8 of hearts and 8 of diamonds) or several numbers in a row (2, 3, 4, 5). I wasn’t very good at first, but the more I played, the better I got.
One of my professors wrote a book, so I went to his book launch! A book launch is an event where an author can talk to people about their book and the process of creating it. It was very cool. There were many students and professors from other universities, and we all talked about the book for a little while.
