What music did I listen to this week?:

I listened to a lot of Peruvian cumbia. Cumbia is a type of music that originated in Colombia. It blends African, indigenous and Spanish colonial influences! It’s very upbeat and tends to have a lot of drums. Cumbia is very popular across all of Latin America, including Peru. My favorite type of cumbia is called “Cumbia Amazónica.” Born in the Amazon rainforest, it’s famous for its use of electric guitars to create a “psychedelic vibe.”
