Here in Argentina, a bottle of water costs about 50 ARS, which is currently about $3.25 USD. That is more than what I am used to, so I prefer to drink water from the tap in my house!
I had my best meal last night when a friend of mine invited me to her house to meet some of her friends. She told me that we would be ordering out. When she told me that, I thought that she meant something like Chinese food or pizza. Instead, we called a local restaurant that makes fresh empanadas. Empanadas are small pastries that can be filled with meat or cheese. We ordered about 15 empanadas for all of us. Some had cheese in them while others had ground beef or ham and cheese. They were delcious and fresh out of the oven. I'm pretty sure I dreamed about them last night!
This week, I listened to a lot of Latin music. I specifically listened to Argentine cumbia. Cumbia is a genre of music that can be found in various parts of Latin America, like in Mexico and Colombia. Each country has its own take on the genre and adds something different. Argentine cumbia uses more electronic synthesizers than the cumbia in other countries, which reminds me a little of old school rock from the 80s. I really like listening to it in my spare time.
