I am forcing myself to learn how to salsa dance because I have always been a little nervous to do it. My friend Esteban is from Colombia and is really good, so he tries to join me every Wednesday as my salsa partner!
In general, my favorite band is the Sacred Souls, so this week I listened to a lot of their music. They are a soul group that have that famous song, Can I Call You Rose. I love R&B, soul and Indie music but I am trying to find more Spanish artists that have a similar vibe to this. I have been asking around more and more for recommendations and I am now starting to build a better playlist.
I went to a meeting for a casting call and was selected to be in a tourist advertisement for Granada! I really enjoyed meeting all the other people who were selected for the ad., and it was exciting to start preparing for the shoot!
I read about the funding freezes to international study abroad and scholarship programs like Fullbright and even the Gilman--which I am on right now. It was devasting to hear how so many students are being affected and are not being sent the money they were promised to fufill their time abroad because of the cuts by the Trump Administration. Programs like these are life-changing and foster incredible international bonds, which is why it is devastating to hear how these initiatives are being destroyed.
