






The main languages spoken in Hong Kong are Cantonese and English, which are the official languages of the region. Mandarin Chinese is also spoken by most of the local population.
In Hong Kong the main currency used is the Hong Kong Dollar (abbreviated HKD). One United States Dollar is equivalent to roughly 7.85 HKD.
It depends on the brand, and where you buy it! On campus this might cost 5-8 HKD, but in the city it is closer to 10 HKD.
I had a salad with soba noodles and teriyaki chicken that was amazing! Before having it, I didn't know what soba noodles were. As it turns out, soba is the Japanese word for buckwheat.
Mainly pop and rap music from the U.S., but I also had the chance to listen to some Dutch music from another exchange student who is from The Netherlands. I really liked what I heard!
Saturday I did a beach cleanup with some friends I've made here in Hong Kong. During the cleaning I didn't feel like we were making much progress, but it was so rewarding to look at before and after pictures of the beach once we were done!
