I drove 275 miles from Belo Horizonte to Rio de Janeiro! That was about six hours in the car.
So far, I have traveled 361 miles from Sao Paolo to Belo Horizonte, 275 miles from Belo Horizonte to Rio de Janeiro, 275 miles home from Rio de Janeiro and then another 720 to Sao Paolo and back. Plus I have traveled about 200 miles within my state of Minas Gerais. That means that I have traveled 1,631 miles since I got to Brazil!
The best way to get around Rio de Janeiro was on foot. I walked more than 20 miles this week!
The most interesting place to me was Sugarloaf Mountain. It was amazing to see the whole city from so high up. There were also people teaching yoga classes at the top of the mountain!
I also had an embarrassing experience while I was in Rio de Janeiro. I rented an apartment to stay in for the week, and it was in a pretty old building. The owner of the apartment told me to be extra careful using the keys to the exterior door. Even though I had been given a warning, I still managed to put the key in the wrong way, and it got stuck in the door. So I had to fix the lock!
