Eero's Life in Jyväskylä, Finland

The house is big and full of light. My mom loves to decorate and garden and in the summers, the backyard is full of beautiful flowers. I've picked up the same sense of style from my mom. We have a sauna in our basement that gets used at least once a week.

What is your family like?:

I have a mom, dad, two brothers and a sister. My dad is the CEO of an IT company and my mom is an elementary school teacher. They're really good parents and a sweet couple. My sister Inkeri is the youngest. She's interested in dancing and art. She likes every subject in school. My brother Lauri is 15. He's really smart and interested in computers, sci-fi and everything to do with technology. My brother Aapo is 19 and finishing high school. He's my best friend, and he'll be going to the army soon like every other boy in Finland at that age. He's really interested in fashion, music and seeing the world.

My extended family lives all around Finland. My dad's side stems from Karelia, which actually is not a part of Finland anymore (it now belongs to Russia). My mom's side is really big and stems from southeast Finland. They own a little island near a city called Savonlinna. On this island, they've built four cottages and a sauna. We spend the summers there.

How do you get around?:

I usually use my bike. If I don't have my bike, I'll walk or take the bus. I don't have a car.

One of the reasons I don't have a car is because I technically can't drive. In Finland, after getting a driver's license, you have to renew it after two years. So, although I passed the test and got my license, I never renewed it so I can't drive a car.
