They sometimes also say things differently from me. I realized that I didn't feel bad for them. I didn't make fun of them, or judged them for speaking in a different way. In fact, I admired them. They were so brave for trying out a new language.
So I've started trying to be brave, too. I've started speaking up in class, little by little. I know that I don't speak French like the French, but I won't learn unless I try. Some of my classmates have even approached me after class because they heard my accent. They were curious about where I came from. What a great way to make friends!
I'm learning more and more French every day. I just have to build my skills up. I read French books, I listen to French music, and I watch French videos. I speak as much French as I can to my friends here. If I keep up with it, I'll be able to speak just like the French do one day.
