Because of Singapore's location, a large number of students have been to at least one country in Southeast Asia. Being so far from Europe and the Americas, students typically express an interest in visiting the United States or Europe.
Many of the Singaporeans I have spoken with know at least a little bit about the United States. Some of them visited the U.S. with their families when they were very young, while others have not been at all. Many of them are familiar with the politics of the U.S. (like who the President is) but not as much about social life.
Singaporeans have often asked if kids in the U.S. have ever heard of Singapore or what they know about countries in southeast Asia? Also, what do they like about growing up in the U.S.? Do you have some answers to these questions that I can share with my Singaporean friends? Let me know?
