Did you know that Lesotho's seasons are the opposite of those in the US? (That’s because Lesotho is located south of the equator, while the US is located north of the equator.) That means, right now, it's summer here! Summer is the rainy season here in Lesotho, so the weather this week was warm and a little rainy. Because Lesotho is in the mountains, it doesn't get as hot as it does in Mississippi, but it certainly feels hot inside without air conditioning!
I saw lots of farm animals this week! My host family owns sheep, chickens, pigs, two dogs (named Foundation and Tiger) and a cat (named Socks) that all live on the compound with us. I also saw lots of cows and goats grazing in the fields around my school.
