I went to the capital city of my district over the weekend to do some shopping because the grocery stores are much bigger there! Lesotho is divided into 10 districts, which are like states. Mount Moorosi (my village), is in the district of Quthing ("koo-ting"). The capital city, also called Quthing, is only about 45 minutes away by taxi.
After living in Lesotho for 15 months, I have gotten the chance to travel all around Lesotho and South Africa! My favorite place I've traveled in Lesotho is Malealea ("ma-lay-uh-lay-uh") Lodge. I visited with some of my Peace Corps friends, and we celebrated Thanksgiving together. We did lots of hiking and got to see a waterfall and some cave paintings!
Outside of Lesotho, my favorite place I've traveled is Skukuza National Park in South Africa. My mom came to visit, and we went on a safari! We got to see lions, zebras, elephants, hippos, hyenas, giraffes and so much more.
